Die Welt der Slaven is published by Harrassowitz Verlag from volume 61 (2016). The journal for Slavic Studies was founded in 1956 by the renowned German Slavist Erwin Koschmieder and has ever since offered scholars from Europe and overseas, as well as from all Slavic countries, a reliably published, nationally and internationally recognized critical publication and discussion forum. From time to time, thematic focuses are placed, for example, on Polish literary theory, which - in contrast to the intensively received Russian and Czech approaches - has still received too little attention, especially in the West. The journal publishes articles and reviews on Slavic languages, literatures, and cultures in German, English, Russian, and French. A peer-review process is used to select submitted articles.
