Konzeptualisierung der Zweisprachigkeit in den Sprachbiographien deutsch-polnischer Bilingualer

In this article I present the ways in which Polish-German bilinguals conceptualise their bilingualism. I argue that language ideologies and language experiences are socially and historically conditioned. They have a strong ininfluence on processes of language shift and loss. The sociolinguistically annotated language biographies available in the LangGener corpus of Polish-German bilingualism (https://langgener.ijp.pan.pl/) provide the material basis for the article. I present the main language ideologies and language experiences of bilingual speakers from Poland and Germany and discuss the process of language shift of both groups in a social and historical context.
